Dreaming of becoming a model? Picture yourself walking the runway for top designers or striking a pose in front of today’s hottest photographers – but wondering what a model casting with Le Grand Casting and ModelStargate is really like?Don’t stress! We’ll walk you through exactly how a casting session works – step by step!
A casting: Your first step into the modeling world
No experience? No professional portfolio? No problem! A model casting is designed to uncover your potential. We’re looking for diverse, authentic profiles – people who are ready to take their shot. So, if you’re ready to dive into the world of model recruitment, this is your moment!
The steps, in detail, just below the video:
Step 1: Check-in at the front desk
When you arrive at the casting venue, you’ll start at the front desk to fill out a casting form with essential information, including:
- Your full name
- Your age
- Your contact details
- Your social media accounts
Once the form is complete, you’ll receive a number sticker to put on your t-shirt. Then, it’s time for measurements: take off your shoes, stand tall, and we’ll note your height.
📝 Important: If you’re under 18, you must bring a signed parental consent form. It’s required to participate.
Step 2: First presentation in front of the jury
Time to meet the jury! Take a deep breath. No stress 😉
All we expect is for you to be natural, smiling, and genuine. Relax and go for it – the music is here to help you get in the flow.
During this first appearance, you’ll introduce yourself: tell us your first name, age, and why you want to become a model. It lasts barely a minute – your chance to make a great first impression. Then comes a second round, where we’ll observe your poise, walk, and posture. This is your moment to show your charisma and what makes you unique!
Step 3: Pre-selection
After these first rounds, the jury discusses and makes a pre-selection. If you’re selected, congrats! You move on to the next stage.
Step 4: Polaroids with the photographer
Lights, camera, action! The photographer will take your casting photos, also known as polas (short for polaroids). These simple, unedited shots (no makeup, filters, or retouching) showcase your face, silhouette, and overall presence.
In total, 5 pictures are taken:
- A medium shot (American portrait)
- A close-up
- A profile shot
- A three-quarter view
- A full-body shot
Step 5: Final presentations in front of the jury
This is the home stretch! Once all candidates are done, you’ll walk in front of the jury again. This time, they’ll evaluate your overall potential, your presence, and how you connect with the camera. There may be multiple rounds before they reach their final decision. This is where everything comes together for your chance to join the Model Camp!
Step 6: Final selection
Congratulations! If you’re selected in this last stage, you’ll join the Model Camp, our immersive program designed to reveal tomorrow’s modeling talent.
(All the details about Model Camp are coming very soon in a new article!)
